You can now add an overlay video on top of your main export when exporting to MP4 in Eddie.

What is an Overlay Video?

An overlay is a transparent .mov file that plays on top of your main video — great for animated logos, lower thirds, intros, or branded effects.

Overlay setting when exporting mp4

Supported Formats

  • ✅ Must be a .mov file with transparency (alpha channel)

  • .mp4 files are not supported as they don’t support transparency

Horizontal vs. Vertical Overlay

Choose based on your main video’s orientation:

  • Video Overlay – Horizontal: for 16:9 videos

  • Video Overlay – Vertical: for 9:16 vertical content

Setting the Start Time

You can choose when the overlay starts by entering a start time in seconds during export.
The overlay will play simultaneously from that point forward.

Example Use Cases

  • Animated logo in top corner

  • Countdown timer overlays

  • Lower thirds or speaker name banners

  • Branded intro animations
