You can import timelines/sequences into Eddie. (It is a gated feature available to Pro/Pro+ subscribers. For a workaround, see here.)
The use case here is if you cull/shorten your footage on a timeline first and then you want Eddie to create edits from that or if you create synced timelines/dirty multicams (ie creating multicams on the timeline)
Note: timeline/sequence import only supported for Pro / Pro+ subscribers. To subscribe, see here.
IMPORTANT: specs
Adobe Premiere timeline import
simple or multicam clips on v1 and associated or separate audio on A1, such as if you synced separate sound on the timeline
synced timelines (aka dirty timelines) where you have numerous clips on v1, v2, v3, a1, a2, a3 etc
Previously users used this workaround
DaVinci Resolve timeline import
simple or multicam clips on v1 and associated or separate audio on A1, such as if you synced separate sound on the timeline
synced timelines (aka dirty timelines) where you have numerous clips on v1, v2, v3, a1, a2, a3 etc
FCP timeline import
clips on V1 (and its associated audio on A1)
Any clips on other tracks like V2 or A2 will NOT be imported and will NOT seamlessly relink.
Why import timelines instead of the source clips?
If you do a first pass on your interviews where you winnow them down on the timeline and now you want Eddie just to analyze that timeline with subclips and create a rough cut from.
How to import timelines:
For Premiere/Resolve:
click the Premiere or Resolve icon on the import box in Eddie
A pop-up will pull up the assets from your bin
Click the timeline you want to import
That's it. Eddie will pull it in.
For FCP:
Drag the project from your FCP event to the import box in Eddie
