Eddie can't do this but you can use a third party tool.
You may be able to use a third-party app that takes Eddie's b-roll log CSV file and then batch renames the files on your hard drive.
Transnomino (Free, macOS 13+)
Supports CSV-based lookup conversions—you can upload a CSV that maps old names to new ones and Transnomino will apply those changes across your files
Works great for straightforward renaming tasks using a clear two-column CSV
If that works, let us know / make a screen recording so we can add to this article and share with fellow customers.
Advanced Renamer (Free, PC)
With the CSV import window you can import both files and new file names into Advanced Renamer.
Claude Cowork (Paid plan required)
Claude Cowork is an agentic mode inside the Claude desktop app that can directly access your local files and rename them — no need to upload anything manually.
Steps:
Open the Claude desktop app (claude.com/download) and switch to the Cowork tab.
Click Work in a folder and select the folder containing your b-roll files.
Share your Eddie b-roll log CSV with Claude in the same chat (drag and drop, or attach it).
Tell Claude something like: "Use this CSV to rename the files in this folder — match old filenames to the new names in the CSV and apply the renames."
Claude will read the CSV, map old names to new ones, and propose the renames. Review the plan, then approve.
Claude applies the renames directly to your files and confirms when done.
Cowork is currently available on macOS and Windows (Research Preview on Windows). Requires a paid Claude plan.
Note:
Cowork only runs while the Claude Desktop app is open — closing the app interrupts the task.
Cowork always asks for confirmation before applying bulk renames (approval step), so it won't rename files without your review.
This is a paid feature (Pro/Max/Team/Enterprise) — not available on the free plan, so it's worth noting in the article so customers aren't caught off guard.
