Eddie supports proprietary formats like Blackmagic's BRAW and R3D/RED. The best way is to have those clips in your NLE and then use Eddie to pull in those clips.
If you're finding an issue importing a proprietary RAW codec, you may want to create proxies. This article describes best practices.
How to create proxies in Premiere, Resolve, and FCP for Eddie AI
Adobe Premiere Pro:
Right click on the click: choose "Proxy" and "Create Proxies..." and choose h264 MP4 proxy.
Resolve:
Right click on your clip, and choose "Generate Proxy Media". Eddie will always use the proxy when importing a clip if it is attached.
FCP:
Right click on the clip and choose "Transcode Media..."
Create h265 Proxies
Transcode your videos to h265 MOVs and use a low bitrate. Ensure the proxies keep the same start timecode, framerate, and resolution; you should even keep the same filename not withstanding the file extension. This way when you go from Eddie back to your video editing application, all your. media will relink and then you can replace your proxies for your original videos.
Why .MOV? Because MOV supports start timecode.
Now you can use Eddie with any unsupported footage via proxies.
Edit the Metadata of files in Eddie
If you created proxies and want to rename files or adjust start timecode and framerate, you can do so by clicking the file icon on the left side of the header bar:
It will pop up a modal like this which you can edit the file's metadata:
