Multicam podcast does:

  • syncs and aligns up to 6 camera angles and 1 separate audio file. Each camera needs at least scratch audio to align with.

  • provides a full aligned rough cut with angles chosen based on who is speaking when

  • exports this full aligned rough cut to your video editing app and allows for easily toggling between the selected and unselected angles.

  • subsequent edits, such as if you want social clips

    • You cannot prompt Eddie to do another full podcast cut. This includes you cannot ask Eddie to remove filler words from the full cut or change the pacing of camera switches or cut to reaction shots

This multicam podcast mode is suitable if you record with cameras in a studio or using Riverside / Zoom.

How Eddie Podcasts Works

When working with podcast-style recordings, Eddie provides two key processing modes based on how your audio tracks interact:

1. Overlapping Audio (Standard Multicam Mode)

For a deeper understanding of overlapping audio in multicam projects, check out this step-by-step guide.

Choose Overlapping mode
  • This mode is ideal for traditional multicam setups, where all video and audio tracks are recorded simultaneously.

  • Eddie will sync and align footage based on overlapping waveforms.

  • The result is a multicam edit similar to what you’d expect in a professional studio environment.

  • This works best when multiple cameras and microphones capture a live conversation or event.

2. Non-Overlapping Audio (Podcast Mode – Uncorrelated Assets)

Choose non-overlapping mode
  • This mode is built for remote interviews, separate recordings, and podcast-style content where speakers might record separately or where audio files are not synchronized.

  • This method mirrors the workflow of platforms like Zoom and Riverside, ensuring each speaker’s segment is placed in the right sequence.
