Clean-up & Scripted is meant for getting quickly to a rough cut of a linear recording.

Use cases:

  • Talking-to-camera videos meant for YouTube / corporate videos, where you have multiple takes and need to choose the best one

  • Where you want an interview cleaned-up

Eddie AI can now cut edits together (from a script or without a script) from your video footage and choose the best takes. It is meant for online videos, YouTube videos, corporate videos...edits that are up to 20 mins long. It is not meant for scripted films that often have a longer intended duration.

Prerequisites:

  1. Eddie for Mac/PC, version 2.4.0 or above | Download

    1. Scripted mode is not available on Eddie website, only on the Mac/PC applications.

  2. Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro

    1. We recommend installing the Eddie extension for Premiere or Resolve if you use those NLEs. For FCP, simply drop the clips into Eddie to import them and to export: drop the "edit" icon back to your FCP event.

  3. Source footage maximum (currently): 1 hour.

We support:

  1. 1-hour (max.) of source footage

  2. English-language speech

  3. Simple clips, Multicam clips, and Timeline imports.

How to use Clean-Up and Scripted mode:

  1. Create a new project and select "Clean Up and Scripted"

  2. Select your videos to import. Toggle to multicam to import multicams from your local drive or multicam clips from your NLE (Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, and FCP).

    1. If you just have 1 camera and 1 separate audio, the workaround is toggling to multicam and then import that camera 1 twice (so it seems like two angles).

  3. Optional: copy and paste your script.

  4. Click the "Import" button.

  5. When analysis and alignment is complete, you'll see the transcript of the edit. Strikethrough represents the not chosen parts. You can enable / disable parts of the edit. You can move clips around.

  6. When you're happy with the edit, then click export and select your video editing application.

  7. A timeline will be created in your NLE where you will see the best takes chosen and the alternative takes just above. To view the alternative takes, you may have to right-click and choose enable.

TaDa!
