We launched the Eddie AI extension for DaVinci Resolve and to bring "ChatGPT" capabilities to your NLE.

The extension for Resolve is like a bridge that connects Resolve with the Eddie application (Mac/PC) and allows each app to "talk" to each other. Specifically this means Eddie can pull clips from your bin to edit with and Eddie can send edits back to that bin.

It supports (today):

  • Logging interviews

  • Logging B-roll

  • Rough Cut mode

  • ChatGPT/Original mode

  • Social Media mode

Prerequisites:

  • Eddie for Mac/PC | Version 2.1.11 or above

  • DaVinci Resolve (free or studio) installed (duh)

  • An Eddie AI subscription to export

STEP 1:

Open DaVinci Resolve (free / studio are both fine).

STEP 2:

Open Eddie (Mac/PC).

Make sure you've downloaded the latest Eddie application version. You can check for updates via the "Eddie AI" menu or download Eddie here.

STEP 3:

Click New Project and choose a supported mode such as Logging or Rough Cut mode.

In the import box, click the Resolve icon. Eddie will walk you through how to install it.

STEP 4:

Open Resolve and then open the Eddie extension from the menu: Workspace/Scripts/Eddie AI

This will create a bridge between Resolve and the Eddie app.

STEP 5:

Go back to Eddie application, click the Resolve icon in the import box and it will pull the list of clips in your bin.

You can then choose from that list which clips you want to import.

You now have agentic AI for your NLE!

Send us any feedback.
