The Eddie extension for Adobe Premiere Pro!

The extension for Adobe Premiere Pro is like a bridge that connects Adobe with the Eddie Mac/PC application and allows each app to "talk" to each other. Specifically this means Eddie can pull clips from your bin to edit with and Eddie can send edits back to that bin.

It supports (today) these mods:

  • Logging interviews

  • Logging B-roll

  • Chat & Edit

  • Feedback

Prerequisites:

  • Eddie for Mac/PC | Version 2.1.11 or above

  • Adobe Premiere Pro installed (duh)

  • Adobe Media Encoder

Step by Step Walk-through of installing and using the Eddie Extension for Premiere Pro

If you just want to see a quick overview, see here:

STEP 1:

Make sure Adobe Premiere Pro is closed.

Make sure you are logged into Adobe Creative Cloud.

Download the latest Eddie application version. You can check for updates via the "Eddie AI" menu or download Eddie here.

STEP 2:

Go to the "Help" menu in Eddie. Click "Install Premiere Extension"

Follow the instructions to install it.

STEP 3:

Once installed, now open Adobe Premiere Pro and then open the Eddie extension from the Adobe menu: Window/Extensions/Eddie AI

Eddie should open Media Encoder automatically. Media Encoder needs to be open for Eddie to import clips/timelines from your Premiere bin.

STEP 4:

Go back to the Eddie application, click the Adobe Premiere icon in the import box and it will pull the list of clips in your bin.

You can then choose from that list which clips you want to import. Eddie supports timeline/sequence imports too in some modes. See here for the specs of timeline imports.

STEP 5:

Eddie will import your clips. It will edit them.

Then once you've finished editing with Eddie, click "Export" and choose "Adobe Premiere Pro." Eddie will seamlessly send that edit to Adobe Premiere Pro via the helper extension (both Adobe Premiere Pro and the Eddie ext for Premiere need to be open).
