When using Eddie’s Log A-Roll function as a DaVinci Resolve editor, there’s a few extra steps to take to ingest your stringouts.

  1. Once your a-roll has finished processing in Eddie, export it to Resolve and download the XML.

Import media from XML

  1. To import the metadata stored in markers in your source video, select File > Import > Media from XML.

Bin structure

This will create your bin structure before you import your timelines.

Import Timeline

  1. To import your stringout, click File > Import > Timeline.

Import Timeline option

  1. Since Resolve can only import one timeline at a time, you’ll have to choose each timeline and import them separately under the “Import Timeline” dropdown. You’ll see each speaker named along with the source clip name.

  2. Once a timeline stringout is imported, you will be able to open it up and begin to select your soundbites.
