How to import BRAW, R3D, other proprietary codecs from FCP

If you have proprietary codecs in FCP that you want to bring to Eddie, create proxies in FCP. Here's how.

The best way to import clips that use a high-end, proprietary codec (eg BRAW, R3D, etc) from Final Cut Pro into Eddie is to:

  • allow FCP to create h264 proxies on those clips

  • then drag the clips from FCP to Eddie

  • Eddie by default looks for a proxy attached to a clip. It will import the h264 proxy. Once you get your edit in Eddie, you can send it back to FCP and the clips will seamlessly relink to the source.

TaDa!
