Benefits of Eddie AI’s multicam editing feature:

Eddie AI can cut stories from your interview and automatically chooses the right camera angle at the right moment! Import your raw footage, Eddie will sync it and cut it, then you can send back the multicam right to your NLE.

What you receive:

  • Receive rough cuts, based on your prompts, with the right camera angles chosen at the right moments

  • Receive the unedited source but with the right camera angles chosen at the right moments.

  • Export to MP4, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve

Prerequisites for Eddie’s Multicam Editing (Now Available Only on Desktop)

  1. Download Eddie for your computer: Multicam editing is only available via the Eddie desktop app (Mac & Windows).

  2. Files Needed: Up to 3 video files (angles) with scratch audio for waveform sync and up to one main audio track (optional) (e.g., lav mic / .wav / .mp3 file).

  3. Formats & Limits: Accepted formats are .mov, .mp4, .mxf, and .wav.

  4. Processing Time: Multicam imports take longer—wait for an email confirming your project is synced and ready to edit.

Limitations:

  • Today it is limited to editing stories from one multicam. We are working to support editing from multiple multicams.

  • Eddie chooses the angles itself and automatically. Eddie can't change the angles or style/pacing of the edits to different camera angles based on a prompt. We are working to support this soon.

Pro Tip: To export the sync'd source footage with camera angles chosen for your NLE (Adobe, FCP, Resolve, Avid), import your footage and once it is ready, you will see a video player in the interface. This video player has all the raw footage/camera angles. Click the export button under the player and then choose the appropriate video editing application format to download an XML/FCPXML/EDL. To learn how to then import that file to your video editing application, see here.

Here’s how to import and use AI multicamera video editing:

1. Open Eddie for Mac/Win, click "New Project" at the top left and choose "Original / Other"

2. Import your Multicam footage:

Let's import your Multi-cam footage. In the project setup, choose Multicam from the import options.

You can import up to three video files and one separate main audio. The separate main audio file is option.

Select which file has the main audio.

The other files need scratch audio as Eddie does a waveform sync.

4. Ready for Multicam Rough Cutting

Once your multicam project has imported, is synced, and is ready to edit, Eddie will notify you in the interface and via email that it is ready for editing. Give Eddie a prompt to cut a story together. Eddie will create that edit and it will also choose the right camera angle at the right moment.

Iterate on edits with Eddie.

To download the edit, choose the export button under the video player:

Download the Fully Synced Edit: Export a fully synced version with the chosen camera angles.

Export as XMLs: Send your edit to popular editing tools:
