Eddie AI’s multicam editing feature allows you to create rough cuts quickly and efficiently, choosing the right camera angles at the perfect moments. Here’s how to use it:

1. Create a New Project:

Log in to your Eddie account and start a new project.

2. Activate multi-cam mode by entering the code in the prompt box

Multicam editing is by invite-only today. Request access here.

Eddie support team will notify you when you've been invited to use multicam and provide you with the activation code which you then enter into the prompt box

Once the code is accepted, multicam mode is enabled:

3. Import your Multicam Project:

Let's import your Multi-cam project. In the project setup, choose Multicam from the import options.

4. Upload Your Files:

  • All imported media assets must have audio for the system to align them correctly. Eddie uses waveform sync to sync your files together.

  • Eddie supports a minimum of 2 camera angles and up to 3 camera angles. (We are adding support for additional camera angles in the near future.)

    • Eddie supports 1 main audio (ie good audio from a lav, for example).

    • Choose which of your videos have this main audio or upload a separate wav file.

    • Eddie today does not support more than 1 main audio.

  • Note: The import process for multicam takes longer than importing a standard project because multicam projects have more media and need more AI analysis.

    • You will receive an email once your multicam project has imported, is synced, and is ready to edit.

5. Ready for Multicam Rough Cutting

Once your multicam project has imported, is synced, and is ready to edit: give Eddie a prompt to cut a story together. Eddie will create that edit and it will also choose the right camera angle at the right moment.

Iterate on edits with Eddie.

NOTE:

Download the Fully Synced Edit: Export a fully synced version with the chosen camera angles.

Export as XMLs: Send your edit to popular editing tools:
