Use Eddie to get your edit.

Then send that cut to Final Cut Pro where it will seamlessly relink with the source footage. It's pretty darn magical.

Here's how to connect Eddie desktop with Final Cut Pro.

If you use the Eddie application for Macs/Windows, drag your green Edit icon right into the Event in Final Cut Pro!! It is fast and seamless.

A YouTube video on how to send edits from Eddie to FCP:

Eddie for Web + send edits to FCP:

Download "FCPXML" file from Eddie: After finalizing your edit in Eddie, click the “Export” button below the video player. Select “Final Cut Pro” to download your project as an FCPXML. "FCPXML" is a file format that defines the edit with all the clip in and out points. This format is the standard for Final Cut Pro and includes transcript ranges on clip and titles on the project (aka timeline/sequence).

Prepare for Import: Place the downloaded FCPXML file in the same folder as your original video files. This helps ensure that when you import the file into Final Cut Pro, it can seamlessly link to the source footage.

Customization Tips:

Titles: Eddie automatically adds "Titles" to your edit/project/sequence. Titles are link captions but with a lot more breadth in styling options: adjust fonts, colors, and styles within Final Cut Pro to fit your project’s aesthetic.

Add Captions: If you need captions, export an SRT file from Eddie and import it into Final Cut Pro using File > Import > Captions.

Add Animated Captions: download the "ProRes" file from Eddie with will give you an MOV with a transparent background and animated captions in the foreground. Drop this ProRes onto your FCP project.

Transcript ranges on clips: Eddie automatically adds transcript ranges on the clips in FCP making it powerful to search. The transcript ranges are in the "Notes" column in your Event.
